What a great film. Thoroughly enjoyed it and for once a decent storyline backed up those dizzy 3d effects. Recommended by me but bare in mind I am a bit err out of space Very Happy

My husband took my son to see Avatar last week, (while I took our daughter to see the Princess and the Frog) and both of them said the same thing as you Gary. They loved it. Now I can't wait to see it.

We saw it on Wednesday. It was absolutely brilliant.

Great movie. It lays its messages on with a trowel, but they're good messages, so where's the harm in that? Three hours long, and seemed half that length.

Predictably, some conservative Christians have denounced the film's nod to pantheism, and, equally predictably, most of them seem to think that pantheism was invented by a bunch of hippies back in 1967.

Odd to describe as "New Age" a belief system that was in existence a few hundred thousand years before that beard and sandals guy was even dreamt of.

Of course, I'm a cynic, so I sniggered a bit at some of the Na'vi's chanting and swaying, and I have to confess that the alternative title someone came up with - "Dances With Smurfs" made me laugh.

But hey, if I can suspend disbelief for three hours, so can anybody. It's a lot of fun - go and see it.

I heard someone describe it as 'Dances with Wolves' meets 'Pocohontas'.
I guess you could add the Smurfs.

Went to see this today. Thought the effects were good but the storyline was as cliched as hell.

Don't know what everyone is getting so excited about. Ten-a-penny storyline; mediocre acting; it's all about the effects - all else is secondary.
Not impressed.

You could watch 'Avatar' and then dismiss it as rubbish.

Or you could just dismiss it as rubbish and save yourself a lot of time and trouble.

If you watch it and hate it at least you"ve only wasted three hours of your time. Think of all those people who read 'The Pillars of the Earth' right to the end. Cool
