Hello Very Happy And thank you for the lovely welcome. I dabble in a bit of writing from time to time, in the historical fiction field. This site looks really good and I look forward to getting involved.

Hi Deira,

Is that Mr John Simm in your avatar? I collared him once a long time ago in the Leadmill in Sheffield. Both a bit drunk, I congratulated him for The Lakes and told him how much I was looking forward to his Raskolnikov which was just about to be aired. I did let him get away in the end. Definitely one of our finest and way before Life on Mars.

Oh yes and a warm welcome too. I mostly live in the haiku dungeons, but occasionally venture 'upstairs' when the Double Dees let me.

Yep, my avatar is John Simm. First saw him in Life on Mars, but thought he was great as The Master in Dr Who. Rumour is that he's coming back too!

But his next outing is in an English Civil War series called 'The Devil's Whore' which will be right up my street as it's historical fiction. However, since the writers are already saying that they're 'taking liberties' with the history, I wonder what we're going to get. Perhaps it'll be like 'The Tudors' ... Still, if get gets people interested in history, perhaps I can put up with it. And neither the Tudors or the ECW are my stamping grounds anyway. No, I'm interested in Romans and Saxons - I just have to put up with ruddy 'King Arthur' all the time instead; that really gets me grumpy Laughing
