Nice one Gary.

I like SOAD. Got into them a few years back, having heard Chop Suey on Good ol' XFM.

They bridge the generations in our house. My daughters flick through the music channels on tv, ignoring stuff that I like and stopping at stuff I don't. However, they both stop if SOAD are on.
Going back to one of your previous threads, the same can be said of Queens of the Stone Age. I bought Lullabies to Paralize the other week and then couldn't find it. Tracked it down to cd player in the girls' bedroom.

Loving the new single and a big fan of Chop Suey too Cool

Need to scrape together some cash so I can invest in a few more of their works Confused

Way hay!!!

Have just discovered that Mesmerize, the new SOAD album comes out on 17th May. By coincidence, just six days before my Birthday.
Have given daughters a severe tapping up.

Happy days are here again Twisted Evil I'm still looking out for a band called beserker or something from Sweden. I remember being in a drunken stupour round a friends house and listening to this. Talk about wake up the undead...

Have just checked out the Download 2005 line up.

Sabbath, Slipknot, SOAD, Velvet Revolver, to name but a few class acts....and it's just down the road from me!!!!
Daughters youngest and oldest also interested seeing as they are both into SOAD and Velvet Revolver. They actually want to go with me.
What the fuck is this generation about?
In my day rock was about rebellion. You didn't go to rock festivals with your bloody parents for gawd sake. You did that with your mates and hopefully some girls.
Still, find it rather flattering that they deem me worthy to be seen with.

Aaah, you should have seen my ickle girlies' faces yesterday.
They're desperate to go to Download on the Sunday cos that's when System of a Down are on (oh yeah, Slayer as well, Gary). In fact they're desperate to go full stop, but neither can afford it.
Anyway, we launched a cunning plan:
Helen gave me a ticket for my birthday. When I opened the package, they couldn't believe I'd got one. Concealed beneath it were two more. I slipped em out, and said 'I wonder who might want to come with me.' Their little faces lit up.
This is the good bit. I told em I needed a beer from the fridge. They've never moved so fast in their lives. Daughter youngest is in Derby Athletics Club, so I mean FAST.

It's nice doing things like that for your kids. It also meant that the money Helen would have used to buy me some new clothes was better spent. I fucking hate clothes shopping. (Well, unless it's certain items for Helen, ahem).
