|Why should I bother registering?
By registering you will become a member of the site. Members of the site can do the following things that non-members cannot:
1. Make posts.
2. Read posts in areas that are currently unviewable by non-members.
3. Vote in polls.
Why don't you let non-members do all this?
One reason: spammers. In the past we have suffered from 'spam attacks' on the board. You know the sort of thing - random posts on a multitude of threads, giving a link to an online casino or porn site. They're highly irritating and take ages to remove. By making sure only registered people can post, we drastically reduce our chances of a spam attack.
We are also very conscious of copyright issues. Our members post works-in-progress, flash fiction pieces, poetry, non-fiction, plays and works for children, etc. that may be submitted to publishers in future and we make every effort to protect this writing and it’s ownership from potential plagiarism.
Is registration free?
How do I register?
Click the ‘Register’ link located at the top right of our forum home page. Our administrators view all registrations daily, winnow out the spammers and activate those believed to be genuine. If we have questions about the validity of any registration, we will send an email to the address noted for confirmation purposes.
Once your registration has been activated, you will receive an email from the Webmaster which contains your user name and password. Once you’ve logged on successfully for the first time, you should change your password. At that point, you can also update your Profile to include personal web links, etc.
If, at any time you forget your password, simply click on the ‘I forgot my password’ link in the log-in and a new password will be sent to your email address.
What do I do after I register?
You should receive an email confirming your registration. Check your spam box just in case it ends up there! If you do not receive this confirmation email, try logging in to the forum after 24 hours. Should you experience any difficulties, please send an email to donnagee at vianet.ca (using the @ symbol).
