|Bit embarrassed to post about my new oeuvre here considering my contributions to this forum have been so tardy and thin. However, for old times sake and that so many of you knew Neil Marr, here we go.
Years ago I took a vacation on a Mediterranean island, Gozo and learnt to my horror that its entire population was abducted in 1551 by a fleet of pirates. Many sick abductees were thrown overboard- along with babies who wouldn't stop crying - en route to the slave markets in Tripoli and Constantinople. Their spirits cry out for revenge and with a bit of time-travelling quirks taking modern lovers thrown together by ancient gods, I give that revenge to them.
Neil Marr loved the idea and introduced me to a former journo pal living on Gozo. I met him there. BeWrite went under before it was published and it took a few years and many rewrites before being published by the US group Solstice Publishing this summer.
So if you enjoy the Mediterranean milieu, pirates, escapes, real geography and 80% real history, lust, love, and historical fantasy, this might be for you or for a friend who'd give you a hug.
Free on KindleUnlimited – cost of a cake otherwise though the paperback is a bit pricey at the cost of two cakes and 4 coffees!
