Hi, people. Sorry I've not been around much since Whittaker (you have to catch up on boring old real life sometimes, don't you?).

Pretty much the only thing I've turned out since the Big W is this dark little piece called "Bottled Out" (fewer than 400 words), accepted for and up right now at National Flash Fiction Day's online FlashFlood journal.

Short enough to read at break time... Best not when you're eating, perhaps?

Go on. You know you want to.

Oscar, you left out the last paragraph.

'And they lived happily ever after.'

Great story!

Thank you, Paul. When possible I like to employ a degree of ambiguity as a creative element. It gives readers involvement, which is another way of saying it diverts their attention from the other shortcomings in my work. Wink

Bless you, sir.

Not too shabby, Stag. Good going!

But what’s this “real life” you talk of? Sounds frightening Twisted Evil

Cheers Wink

Thank you, eric.

Indeed, the concept of "Real Life" is a frightening one, but it's an illusion we must maintain in order to avoid revealing the True Reality to Earth people... [Did I just think aloud then? Curses!]

Wahahaha!
