Four poems I originally subbed to Erbacce Press back in May 2010 have just been accepted by editor Alan Corkish for the next edition of their journal. Shocked

I've long disowned everything of mine I wrote in 2010. I'd be embarrassed to see it in print.

You must be a writer ahead of your time.

I'd discarded these pieces as it happened, having given up on them, and had no record of them (other than in my list of submissions) so had to ask Alan to send me copies so that I could check they weren't too embarrassing. They turned out to be perfectly okay. More lyrical than my more recent stuff, but perfectly acceptable (to my relief).

Good on yer, Cathy.

Yep, a lot of the stories I wrote back then are getting a second day out.

You're absolutely right - never give up on oldies. When a publisher asked to see short stories I had written, I sent some ancient ones as well as more recent work, and when they selected twenty for a collection, they included one quite old one which I would do differently these days. So you never know.

Yeah, I think I'd have been a bit 'knock me down with a feather' after that long.

Good writing, no matter the year, is still good writing. Kudos, Cathy Clap
